I played a Bosendorfer piano with moderate dynamics to achieve a gentle but dark sound at the same moment. A string section starts with a low register introducing a quiet ambient, then the piano plays an intro part moving around a few minor chords structure. In the middle of the piece, the piano gets darker, and a counterpoint with tremolo cellos and violins introduces to the main piano theme, which is then repeated with a different arrangement of choirs and strings.
