about

I really, truly had fun with this one.
Sometimes you're asked to write a long music which only says a few things. Other times you're asked to tell the whole story in two minutes. This was the case.

I was looking for a classical ensamble with some odd colors which quickly worm in and go out the arrangement. You will hear some "Jew's harp" in the background, as well as some oriental strings bits or wood percussion which pantomime the intricate world of mechanics, clocks, gears used by this imaginary and bizarre Toy Master.
The tracks frenetically explores different settings, and consequently different musical approaches, being conceived in a structure that would be proper to a trailer-like summary of the whole story.

For this music I was inspired by David Lanham's drawing entitled The Toy Master. It deeply affected me and opened new paths during composition, giving me the possibility to create a fantasy screenplay in my mind. To see David's wonderful vector (and more) works, see dlanham.com. He really deserves.
